CBC News is now identifying the Canadian soldier killed this morning at the National War Memorial. Twenty-four-year-old Corporal Nathan Cirillo was the young reservist from Hamilton that was shot. Cirillo was later pronounced dead in hospital. The city of Hamilton and the nation as a whole is mourning the loss of the young solider.
Stratford’s mayoral race is down to three candidates. Matthew Murphy is withdrawing. He announced his decision today, citing this morning’s shootings in Ottawa and the events in Quebec involving two soldiers on Monday as the reason for his decision.
